after leaving bulguksa, we drove up the mountain to seokgulam, a cave/stone grotto containing a big shrine. it's assumed to have been built in the mid 8th century.
no photography was allowed inside and even though i managed to grab a few hip shots, none of them captured the main statue in full.
you can see here how the building is built into a hill.
